1981 Western Airlines ad Swapmeet Thursday scan by Dying In Downey on Flickr.
In the California market, Western served SFO and SMF from LAX. On those routes, they ran a promotion where five round trips would earn one a pass for $50 off their next flight. Which was quite a discount, considering airfares back then.

American Airlines - Weird ad from 1968
Bit creepy print advertisment from the late sixthies. Interesting point of view.
Can you imagine this ad running today? Your mother jokes..
Now mama’s gonna leave you at the gate with the policemen if you don’t sit up straight and turn off your iPad.

Final post of the morning. My favorite western airline, Western Airlines!
The font-geek in me says this is pre-unification era.. i.e. pre-Helvetica because of how many different typefaces there are on one ad.
Another one of Western’s rare international destinations.
